Salty Snoop

Sebastian

The next morning, I wake to the sound of my shower going and I have delightful deja vu. By the time I decide to hop out of the bed to join Kit, the shower turns off and instead I turn over to face the opposite wall. She quietly steps back into my room and I hear her getting dressed. A tendril of fear winds its way around my heart. Is she sneaking out on me?

I feel her sit on the bed and feel her wet hair against my bare shoulder as she leans over to kiss my cheek. “Stop pretending to be asleep, Salty. I’m not going to ditch you.”

Relief physically sweeps through me and I smile because I’m going to have a hard time keeping anything from her. My arm goes behind her back and I pull her over me in one swoop. “You better not, or I’ll come after you,” I say and nudge her nose with mine. “Where are you going?”

“I’m heading out, it’s Monday,” She says with a shrug.

“When will you be back?” I ask.

“Tonight. I can’t resist one more night in this ridiculous bedroom.” She sweeps her arm around my room and I smile. I love my room but it is pretty ridiculous. Aside from my enormous California King bed with large cushioned headboard, there’s ample space filled with two dressers, a small seating area with two cozy armchairs and then in one corner is a hammock. That’s right, a full-sized hammock anchored securely to hang from the ceiling. Joe calls it my sex swing, but it’s just for relaxing and reading. It sits right next to the wall sized sliding doors I have that lead out to my deck.

There’s also a hammock on the deck next to the hot tub. In the middle is a table with four chairs and a gorgeous view of my side yard which is an old almond tree and then acres of vines. The sun comes up over the hill there and it’s a stunning view. We missed the sunrise, but it’s still pretty.

“Do you have time for coffee on the deck before you go?” I ask running my hand down her arm making her shiver.

She shakes her head. “Tomorrow, I promise.”

My forehead goes to hers. “Can you tell I don’t want you to leave?”

“I can, and I don’t want to either but I have plans.” Her eyes glance to the side and I get up out of the bed, freeing her to leave. “Don’t be angry,” she says hugging me from behind as I grab a shirt and boxers from my dresser.

“I’m not,” I say covering her hands with mine. “I was just hoping you’d be able to spend the day with me and my friends.”

“I do love your friends. Next time, okay?” She kisses me on my back and squeezes my middle.

I step out of her embrace and put clothes on. She waits and when I’m dressed, we head downstairs together. It’s relatively early so Joe and Betsy aren’t up yet.
